Choose women's, men's, or kids' first — the three scales don't share the same numbers, so this converter never guesses which one you mean. Then pick your size in any system to see it in every other system, or measure your foot length instead.
Shoe sizes are scale offsets, not the same ruler with different names. In this chart, a US women's 8 and a US men's 6 both correspond to the same 24.5 cm foot length — the women's scale runs about two sizes ahead of the men's scale for the same physical foot. UK sizing is a third scale again, and it doesn't share one offset between the genders: UK men's runs one size below the US men's number, while UK women's runs about two sizes below the US women's number. None of this is a formula you can apply reliably by eye, which is why this page uses the chart above rather than "just subtract a size or two."
Kids' sizing adds a second trap: US and UK kids' scales both climb to 13 and then restart at 1 for bigger kids (written 1Y, 2Y… in the US). A "size 4" could mean a toddler shoe (EU 20) or a big-kid shoe (EU 37) depending on which side of the restart it's on — always check which range you mean, which is why the converter above asks.
